Takashi Iwasaki è nato in Giappone nel 1982 con un incredibile talento nelle mani: che le usi per disegnare, dipingere, ricamare, incollare o intagliare, il risultato è sempre affascinante, sorprendente, bellissimo. Mi piace praticamente ogni cosa che fa, e non solo a me, considerato il suo ricco curriculum artistico nonostante la giovane età.

I use various media to create my work, for instance; hand embroidering is the most time-consuming and painstaking method of art-making which in turn engages my thinking process differently from the other methods I use, such as collage making, drawing, painting, printmaking, and other graphic/web-design-related creations. Working with various kinds of media is very important for me to keep my thoughts and ideas fluid and flexible.

Through all her endeavors, she continued to gather visual information, trying new techniques with fabric and adding to her already extensive fabric collection.

Oggi vive nei dintorni di NY e fa l’artista a tempo pieno. Di tempo e pazienza ha sicuramente bisogno per fare i suoi incredibili e dettagliatissimi collage di stoffa (!) e carta.

[...] Thousands of pieces of fabric are often contained in each work. Attention to detail is my way of capturing viewers, bringing them in closer so that details meld into shapes and color – which is often the case when we contemplate an object.

Magic Jelly è Karena Colquhoun, da Adelaide, Australia. Come chi scrive, anche lei ha subito la fascinazione del Print Gocco, che usa per fare bellissime stampe, a due o più colori. Queste, insieme ai collage, alle spillette, ai sottobicchieri e quant’altro potete trovarli nel suo Etsy shop, che è talmente fiorente da aver superato le mille vendite. Direi che ci si può fidare.
