Ho portato fino allo sfinimento (anzi al laceramento) una sciarpa molto simile a quella del tutorial di Pretty Ditty: la mia era nera e con gli stessi puccettosi piccoli pompon incapsulati nella texture del tessuto. Per farla serve una stoffa di cotone a trama larga o comunque leggera, del filo da ricamo (opzionale, per fare un decoro che per esempio la mia non aveva), dei piccoli pompon che si comprano già pronti in bustine, ago, filo e pazienza. I had this knit tank top around from forever. I liked its bright colours and fitted wear, that’s why I bougth it for a bargain on a vintage market stand. But eventually I got to really wear it only once or twice. So, back in November, I decided to recycle/upcycle it. You too can do something similar more faster than writing the how to in a blog post, for sure!

Basically, I just cut off the upper part of the tube top and put it away. I liked the stripes, while I didn’t want to have much yellow against my face. I wanted the tube to be quite long, so I could double it and wear the neckwarmer in different ways. So, i cut away the upper part and simply stitched it with my sewing machine, and it got lightly curled up. Done! It’s simple as that. And you can wear it with the curly side down like in the first pic, or like a gorget (?) like this:

You can also double it twice and go all black, for a more subtle look.

This project is best with any knit tops you may have, because they’re usually stretchy. Mine was 100% acrylic so it’s also practical to wash, but it works with any fiber. You can also try with stretch jersey, indeed let me know if you do!

Mi piace tanto questa faccetta calamitosa, new entry nella collezione The Small Object. È pur vero che comprerei quasi tutto quello che fa Sarah, geniali manine dietro il piccolo oggetto. Per ora mi consolo con il bel pacchetto swappato (tanto) tempo fa.

Sembra una sciarpa, invece è un gioiellino di avanguardia tecnologica con incorporato un codice QR, che vorrei tanto sapere a che informazione porta. Office Lendorff, geni della maglia pixelata, oltre a The Invader Scarf fanno tante altre belle cose.

Come riciclare un bracciale che non mettiamo mai? Dipingendolo à la Pollock, con lo smalto per unghie. Bella idea di lc su Fops and Dandies, che ha fatto di necessità virtù quando ha visto questo bracciale e ha pensato di poterne fare una versione casalinga. Tutte le istruzioni per creare un mini Pollock da polso.

Potrà non accordarsi alla stagione parlare di sciarpe a (quasi) Luglio, ma queste prodotte da Little Factory sono così belle che meritano menzione.
In pratica una versione automatizzata del kirigami, sono intagliate al laser con una apposita macchina. Disponibili nelle versioni numeri, maiuscolo e minuscolo. (via)
