CW Roelle

CW Roelle è un artista di Providence, Rhode Island, che a occhio e croce mi sembra essere un bel posto per creare – tra l’altro è lo stesso posto dove ha sede la prestigiosa Rhode Island School of Design. Roelle però ha studiato a Baltimora, la città che ha dato i natali a quel pazzo genio di John Waters.
A parte il mio discutibile interesse per la geografia e per creare collegamenti là dove non ce ne sono, la particolarità di Roelle è che disegna con il fil di ferro. Disegna, letteralmente. E lo fa anche molto bene, come si vede dalle immagini qui e dalle altre sul suo flickr. La prima volta che ho visto i suoi lavori sono quasi caduta dalla sedia. In fondo a questa pagina trovate anche un video dedicato a lui e al suo lavoro.

[...] I also have a problem with fabric that is too thin, paint that won’t chip, and the inability to laugh after falling. Which brings me to the art here in. There is a small mix here. Physically they are all about shapes and space, or how a lot of little shapes can make for larger objects that exist two dimensionally while actually being three dimensional. Contently they are trying to be the narrative equivalent of a warm fall afternoon, or a dress with broad black and white stripes.
